Mild He lays His glory by
Dear Friends
Every blessing and good wish for your celebration of Christmas.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have had to adapt our Christmas services to accommodate poorly clergy and key volunteers – flu and Covid and a Rector with no voice! Do keep checking your Harbour Churches newsletters for any further updates… Thank you to those who are standing in at the last minute 🙂
Sometimes we just can’t be the all singing, all dancing whoever’s we would want to be – and I am learning that at those times we often find ourselves a little more Christ-like… ‘Mild he lays his glory by’ tells us more than we can ever know about the mystery of God in Christ at work in our world – ‘Pleased as Man with man to dwell, Jesus our Emmanuel’.
Voiceless, I am having to rely on the voice of others. ‘My’ Christmas message is voiced better than I ever could in the words of a poem which attests to our experience of this past year of perma-crisis – and personal crisis. It proclaims our sincere hope and salvation in Christ.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus,
In Christ alone….
Jonathan
