St James Community Centre

The St James Community Centre is staffed by volunteers who host a range of activities. The Centre adjoins St James Church in Birdham and was opened in May 2019. It has a large, homely café where drinks and snacks are available. We have a lovely playroom on the ground floor that is home to parent, carer and baby toddler group Ducklings. There are two gender neutral toilets one of which has disability access and a baby changing station in it. A lift services the ground and first floors. The Centre has two upper meeting rooms. One of these rooms is a large contemplative space with a full height contemporary window. The window was designed by Mel Howse, her artistry was recognised by the Sussex Heritage Trust who gave the St James Community Centre a Sussex Heritage Trust award in 2019.
Parking is available at the rear of the Centre in Church Lane.
You can find out more about the community events that happen at the St James Centre at the bottom of this page.
